Cornwood Show

The Society is a registered charity aimed at promoting agricultural and horticultural issues within Cornwood and its immediate surrounds. The Society has been running for over 100 years, with its main activities focused on Spring and Summer shows.

We hope to hold a Dog Show, following the great success of the 2009 event, in late spring or early Summer of 2010.

Our next Cornwood Summer Show will be on 21st August 2010, as ever the 3rd Saturday in August.    It will be held at Cadleigh Farm, Ivybridge.

The show traditionally includes a large horse section, a dog show, pets and poultry, horticultural exhibits, arts and crafts, an ever-expanding sheep section, and many and varied Trade Stands, not to mention a show area to accommodate displays of dog agility and obedience, and working horse management.   Side shows include archery, skittles, pony rides, face painting, and a bouncy castle, and of course, hot and cold refreshments, and a bar.

Show Schedules are available from local outlets, including Cornwood Post Office, or by contacting the Section Secretaries. See Contacts linked to this page.

The Cornwood Summer Show is a traditional country fete day out, with something for everyone, especially for the young of all ages.

If you have a Trade Stand, side show, or provide an attraction or demonstration you would like to bring to the Show please contact us.

The Organising Committee is always looking for willing volunteers to help with setting up the show, and helping on the show day itself.   Please contact us if you would like to know how you can help.

We are also looking for someone to take on the mantle of organising the Horse Section of the Show, and also someone to act at as Showground Director.   They would be taking on well-established jobs, heavily ''''ghosted'''' by the previous post holders.

Further information, contact details, and a photo gallery of the Show are available on our website www.cornwoodshow.co.uk
